Money is Blood Running through the Veins of Society

“India has been condemning wealth for thousands of years. The society that will condemn wealth will invariably become dishonest. It is dangerous to condemn wealth. because condemning wealth means only one thing, if we condemn wealth we will stop moving in the direction of producing wealth. Even now the big businessmen of India are working as links between the producer and the consumer. If something is produced in Mumbai and it has to be distributed to the city of Baksar there is a long chain of a number of touts in between. Those touts comprise the big nexus of businessman; and remember, if the wealth is not produced and is only touted, and distributed by brokers, lots of dishonest practices will start erupting. In the country where the businessman is fundamentally a tout, in that country the businessman can never be honest.

“Dishonesty will start increasing. And the consumer, the customer will be burdened by it. Why the businessman of India is not productive? it is worth giving a thought. India has been condemning wealth for thousands of years. It has been saying that money is useless, money is dirt. The society which will condemn money will not be free of desiring money. There are some natural reasons behind desiring money.

“Money is neither useless nor worthless. Money is very meaningful, very useful. In life, money is a great medium of change, exchange, usage. Civilization cannot develop without it. The societies that have not developed money are living in forests, they could not develop. Money is extremely important; it is the soul of civilization. Interestingly, the saints who oppose wealth are nurtured by the wealthy businessmen of India.

“And remember, the businessman will respect that very saint who opposes wealth. By condemning money the lust for money is not killed but the way to produce money is obstructed. If money can be earned by mixing water with milk, if money can be obtained by mixing sand with sugar, if the medicine can be replaced with water, people start collecting money by using these simple means.

“Being creative asks for hard work; it asks for long term thinking, genius, lifelong perseverance. Then, in the end, the wealth can be produced. And here since we are opposed to money people think, let us juggle some simple trick.

“Wealth should be coveted, definitely coveted, but coveting it means being creative: how we can produce wealth. But no one talks about producing because who will toil over a long period of time?

Actually a society has to be such in which being honest should not seem to be an austere discipline, instead being dishonest and corrupt should seem to be an austere discipline.

“The rich people of India, those who have money, live like the poor. They accumulate, they hoard the wealth, they don’t enjoy it. Why? Because India preaches simplicity: Simple living, high thinking. This is nonsense. The truth is high living, high thinking.

“And let me tell you that the society that produces hoarders, becomes rotten. People who can enjoy the wealth are needed: such kind of people who spend the money, spread it, not hoard it. But India accumulates wealth. An Indian makes money so that it can be locked in the vaults. The rich is only interested in making his safe bigger and bigger. The rich man lives like a pauper. People praise him that he is a great man. This kind of man is a danger to the society because the money that is stored in the vault becomes useless for society. It is exactly like the blood circulating in the hands or feet getting blocked somewhere. As long as the blood is circulating in the body…the more it circulates the more the person remains young; the more easily, without any obstacles does it flow, the more the person will be strong. The body becomes paralyzed wherever the blood circulation is blocked. The Indian businessman earns money and locks it in the safe. It becomes paralyzed. Money is blood, it should circulate.

“This rupee is alive when it is moving, running. That society becomes richer and richer in which the money circulates faster.

“Right now we don’t store the air in our vaults but in the near future if the air is in short supply we will start storing the air in our vaults. I say to you that the world will become non-possessive if there is as much wealth in the world as there is air. And there can be more wealth than the air. Technology has made it easy for us. And there is no need for any society to be poor except for the unintelligent societies. Nobody needs to be poor now. The day wealth will be available in plenty, more than the air, the world will be free of the desire for wealth. And the day people’s minds will be free of the (obsession for) wealth, there will be such a great cyclone, such a great revolution for spirituality! The moment man is liberated from money his mind will start moving towards religiousness.

“I want to tell you the last thing. Produce so much wealth that the society becomes free of wealth. Produce so much wealth that for wealth no one has to do any dishonesty, theft, black marketing and corruption. Produce so much wealth that wealth looses meaning. No one needs to worry about wealth. And when a society becomes free of wealth, for the first time art, religiousness and culture is born, because the eyes look beyond it.”
